Blooms Florist Basingstoke can help with your floral requests, seasonal availability and the best choice flowers.  Daily we work with a wide stock of flowers and have many more available to order. Something the supermarkets and boxed delivery suppliers don't quite achieve.

We like speaking with our customers,  make all our flowers fresh each day,  locally in our workshop and then deliver them ourselves. We are not a retail shop. Collections are not available at the workshop,  we do not sell loose cut flowers to choose, florist sundries or balloons.

We do however, arrange and deliver locally, beautiful Hand-tied Bouquets, Lovingly crafted Funeral Flowers,
Set up and Dress Hampshire Wedding Venues, Decorate Brides.
Our house style is Vintage -  Blousy high summer bouquets, brimming with Blooms, and  whites, limes and elegance. Leading Ladies - show off flowers that often include Peonies, Hydrangea, Sweet Peas, Roses.

Our Vintage China & Vases are available to accompany, listed online for the budding Flowers Arrangers amidst you - Constance Spry Style Mantle Vases, Sauce Boats, Fluted Glass many Jugs.

When choosing colours and themes for bouquets, the following can be considered

Toning colours - different shades of the same basic colour, use flowers next to each other on the colour wheel. Lilac and Blue,  Purple and Pink for example.

Complementary colours -   work well together, yellow and purple, burnt orange & yellow look fabulous.

White Flowers - mixing white flowers with other colours will dominate an arrangement. White & Green is an elegant combination.  White and Blue reminiscent of Delft Pottery gives a classic look.

White and Red considered bad luck by some, associated with blood and bandages dating back to Wartime! To be avoided.

Although  important to get colours of flowers right, style is the key to success. To get the most from your chosen flowers, mixing textures and your selection of Blooms will make the most impact. There are considered to be four basic styles in Floristry.

Country Garden - typically English style, reflecting all that is seasonably fresh and available for the time of year. Flowers are Bloomy and of full fluffy texture, foliage often of herbs and hedgerow greenery. Relaxed and informal and not pretentious, very Vintage !

Woodland - stronger textures includes berries, barks and mosses, often with a strong Autumn feel.
Burnt oranges, darker green foliages and russet browns. Hypericum, crab apples stems, during the Spring bluebells and hellebores all make convincing partners.
Contemporary - Clean, simple and often minimalist, can sometimes look cold but you can achieve striking impact when  grasses, bamboo and palm leaves are used with the warmth of anthuriums, ginger and proteas. Leaves massed in clear glass vases - Elegant.

Tropical - bright and often waxy in appearance, used repeatedly in Restaurants, Offices and Corporate arrangements by Florists because they last. Orchids add a softness and exotic edge stood in tall cylindrical vases.
